HISTORY
Like almost every produced 356 Speedster this car was imported in The US by Hoffman New York. The delivery date was on Valentines day in 1958. So this Reutter built Speedster is a really late production car.
Already in the early Nineties this 356 was re-imported in Germany. In 2002 it was sold by Peter Schmitz Classic Cars Eupen to the last Dutch owner.
BODY AND PAINT
The last owner was told that the car was restored in early nineties in Germany. There is documentation of this but one thing I know that it was done to a very high standard and that they started with a very solid car. All original panels. (stamped and Matching) After 30 years this car still looks sharp, has no rust and the paint is still very nice. The car was painted in red which was common in this days. I can be brought back in the stunning Meissen Blue quite easily.
INTERIOR
The beige leather with red piping interior is still in a pristine condition.
TECHNICAL
When the last owner bought it he drove it for one year and then he decided to do a rebuilt on the engine. The invoice comes with the car. The engine runs very good without smoking. Service before delivery.
This stunning Icon is ready to be enjoyed and after nearly 23 years ownership ready for a new caretaker.
