Very nice 356 B Drauz Roadster.
Rare 1600 Super version.
Long term ownership.
Rubin Red (now period correct Silver).
Leatherette Black (Now genuine leather red).
This 356 was sold new by Hoffmann New York on 7-11-1960.
Somewhere in the nineties this 356 came to The Netherlands. Since 1997 one caring owner.
He used the car for holiday trips and club meetings only.
BODY AND PAINT
This Roadster is once restored in the nineties. It was very common in those days to make it to your own taste. So they picked silver/red as color combo. Good choice I think personally! The body is rust free and good panelfittings all around. The paint is very presentable, not concours.
The red matches really perfect with the Silver exterior. Everything is very nice used condition. A very rare Les Leston wooden steering wheel (original factory accessoire) replaced the original black steering wheel. Also it has a nice period correct stopwatch on the dash.
Perfect carpet. doorcards etc.
The last owner always took really good care of it. Serviced when needed. Replaced or repaired if there was anything that needed attention. Very good driver. The matching numbers 1600 Super engine runs good and has plenty of power.
The gearbox shifts good in every gear. No noises or grinding.
